  • Assessment skills include competent knowledge from Pediatric to Geriatric stages and deliver patient care appropriately.
  • Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate.
  • Demonstrates competent clinical skills and performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
  • Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation.
  • Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.

  • Follows the National Patient Safety Goals, including following Universal Protocol and identifying patient's utilizing 2 patient identifiers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients.
  • Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia.
  • Contributes to the perioperative team by prioritizing the care of patients based on their needs and any changes in condition.
  • Actively includes the patient and family members in teaching and assesses patient's understanding of surgical procedures/instructions.
  • Supports the completion of patient testing in a timely manner and evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

    • 2 years critical care experience
    • Valid RN License
