Become part of a team dedicated to serving as a trusted partner, helping the business navigate the legal landscape and achieve its goals.Job Overview:The NY Life Legal Department is seeking a real estate attorney with 5+ years' experience to support NY Life Real Estate Investors, a team of approximately 150 investment professionals.What You'll Do:

• Represent institutional mortgage, construction and mezzanine lenders/borrowers; advise on complex real estate finance transactions.
• Demonstrate expertise with intercreditor, co-lender, and participation agreements, including both pari passu and senior/subordinate structures.
• Strong experience with real estate funds and investment structures.
• Experience in a variety of equity transactions, including real estate acquisition and disposition, joint ventures, leasing, and asset management.
• Proficiency in development and construction matters, reviewing design, development and other construction-related contracts; basic knowledge of construction, zoning and land use law.
• Experience managing sophisticated commercial leasing deals across office, industrial, and retail sectors.What You'll Bring:
• JD degree and admission to practice law in New York (required).
• 5+ years' of relevant experience, either in a law firm or in-house.
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely. Attention to detail is essential.
• Strong initiative, dependability, motivation, and a team-oriented mindset.Preferred Background:
• Currently working in a law firm's real estate group, with a majority of experience in this area.
• Candidates with experience in a financial institution's in-house real estate legal department, in addition to law firm experience, are also encouraged to apply.Pay TransparencySalary Range: $122,500-$210,000Discretionary bonus eligible: YesActual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
